Preliminary Task

This shows my contents page as part of my preliminary page. this took a lot readjusting as i wanted to be perfect i had to create the columns by adding lines and made them effective by making them bold colours that clash with the background. i still had to think about lineament and as important to for everything in the most accurate place to make it successful.

My front cover for my school magazine and Preliminary Task. Overall im pleased with what i ended up with and enjoyed doing. However i did find it hard with finding the right font and the layout along with the alinement.

Research and Planning for Preliminary Task

Today we began with the planning and research for our preliminary task , the wilmington magazine. I had previously chosen the title and the topics which would be used in both the front cover and the contents page, however today we had started to take pictures for our front page. The requirements were to have a picture of a student showcasing the school in a medium close up shot. I decided to have a picture of a year 7 and a sixth form student to show both years starting the school, showing the theme of one of my stories 'starting out?'

When i set out to find this picture it became hard as there was no students around at this time and we needed a younger years student. we eventually found a student who was able to complete the picture with me. we wanted to show the tips that can be provided by the school for new students by having a shot of me helping him with his school work. 

We finished off by targeting other important parts of the school that can show identity. We used picture of the badge to illistrate the schools indentity and to give me inspiration for a house stlye and colour scheme that i can use for my magazine.

we also had to brainstorm ideas that we wanted for our title of the madazine and what audience we wanted this magazine to be aimed at. I eventually choose to make it a more upper school targeted as i would know what sixth former would want to read about.
